What is PortalPlanet?
PortalPlanet is a suite of online Computerized Maintenance System (CMMS) software. PortalPlanet offers tenants, management, and maintenance a convenient place to request and authorize work orders. Preventative maintenance (PM) can also be scheduled and tracked online and thus providing an easy to read "e-paper" trail of when work was started and when it was completed.

Do you provide training on the PortalPlanet CMMS Software?
Yes we do provide training. Training is available in 2 forms. First, through the manual and online instruction and second through our on-site training where a professional trainer is sent to your location for one-on-one or classroom training of the PortalPlanet suite of software.

What resources do I have to devote to our PortalPlanet?
Your organization will need to provide the graphical elements you want reflected in your PortalPlanet, select the features you want to offer and work with us to develop coordinated marketing programs. Ongoing maintenance is usually accomplished in a nominal amount of time and primarily depends upon how frequently your local content is updated.
WSI.com Consulting devotes the technical and financial resources necessary to create, host and maintain the CMMS system. Most organizations can support their portals using their existing staff.

What is the process for developing our CMMS system once we sign up?
Once the agreement is executed we will:
- Work with you to create a Statement of Work (SOW), which serves as a blueprint for our development team to create a custom CMMS system for your organization. This will ensure that we understand your goals and that the SOW reflects them.
- Incorporate the features that you choose with the look and feel that you desire for your software.
- Launch your custom PortalPlanet CMMS system after quality assurance tests and your sign-off.
- Continue to host and maintain your portal, offering your organization new features as they become available and modifying your portal as necessary.

Can our customers update the defaults that we select for our portal? Are there permanent defaults?
Your users can personalize your PortalPlanet within the limits that you establish. For instance, you may choose to offer your local weather as the default weather for your PortalPlanet, but allow customers to select their local weather instead. Customers might also be allowed to remove the weather display from their personal portal. However, there might be some content modules where you prohibit personalization. For instance, you might not allow customers to delete your organization's news headlines. You will be able to modify the defaults in the future as new modules are added or your needs change.

Yes. We can set up an automated system that updates your headlines as they change. Or we can provide you with tools and training so you can easily update the system yourself.

Can we incorporate other third-party vendors into our portal?
Our goal at WSI.com Consulting is to provide you with the vendors that best meet the needs of your organization and your customers. We will take it upon ourselves to integrate third-party vendors into your PortalPlanet.
Assuming that third-party vendors are cooperative and use appropriate technologies, integrating their sites will not compromise the aesthetic or technical integrity of your portal.

How does the maintenance request system work?
The web support request system works by either a manager entering the system or a tenant and entering the specifics of the request such as a short description, a complete description of the problem and also a priority. The manager can then assign the task to the proper maintenance personell.

How does the reminder system work?
The reminder system is designed to allow the building manager or maintenance manager add scheduled tasks such as preventative maintenance (PM) schedules into the system. Tenants can use the flexable reminder system to keep track of important meeting dates, holidays, and more.

How do the Web-based bookmarks function?
Web based bookmarks are bookmarks that are stored on the web by PortalPlanet and are available to your users simply by logging into your portal. This offers more flexability to your users over storing bookmarks on their PC.
